Golfers should start building their resumes between January and July each year. Resumes include scores from tournaments outside of school. For each submission please make sure you list the name of the tournament, course, finish position, score and the date.  (Examples of tournaments include NTPGA Medalist Tour, NTPGA All American Tour, Texas Junior Golf Tour.) When a student meets the required criteria during this time period, they will receive an invitation to the official on course tryout at the end of July. 

DATE:  End of July thru beginning of Aug.

LOCATION:  Indian Creek Golf Course and Coyote Ridge Golf Course

After submitting tournament scores and any other pertinent information to Coach, athletes will be invited to an on course tryout consisting of two 9 hole rounds of golf. At this time placement in the program will be determined. 

Tryouts will be held at Indian Creek and Coyote Ridge Golf Course.

PLAYER EXPECTATION: All players must supply their own equipment (clubs, balls, etc.) 

PARENT EXPECTATION: Parents are more than welcome to come to tryouts. We ask that during the range session they stand at the back of the practice tee. Parents must remain on the cart paths at all times and not discuss any play with their student during the round.

Once tryouts are complete students will be contacted by Coach via email or by phone and told whether they will be on JV (1st period) or varsity (4th period.) 

Any grade (incoming 9th grader – current 11th grader) may tryout for the Hebron Golf team. Players should have a basic understanding of golf, be able to play a full round, and be willing to learn and improve.

Golf team members are expected to:

• have basic knowledge of USGA golf rules
• attend practices, tournaments and team events
• arrive on time and be prepared to play
• carry your own golf bag and keep score
• maintain good grades and follow school eligibility requirements
• show good sportsmanship and proper golf etiquette
• respect coaches, teammates, opponents and golf course staff
• take care of team uniforms, equipment and facilities
• practice and work to improve their game
• compete but don't compare

All golfers will be in 1st (JV/Developmental) or 4th period (varsity.)

Coaches will post the weekly schedule on SportsYou. Practices will include work in the indoor training facility and/or weightroom at Hebron. Club days are off campus and the location is chosen by the student - verified by sending a picture to coach. Some practices will be held on one of our own home courses. 

Our home courses are Indian Creek, Coyote Ridge, and The Lakes at Castle Hills.

Hebron Golf is year-round with Spring being the most important. Students  must be in golf class all year unless they play another sport or activity that is not in-season. With the exception of basketball, all other spring sports will not work with golf.

There are 8 tournaments a year, usually 4 before winter break and 4 in the spring. Any play-offs, Varsity Districts, Regionals  and State will be additional tournaments for those who qualify.

Transportation is provided to and from tournaments in a registered LISD vehicle. Parents are responsible for dropping off and picking players from the high school on tournament days.

The booster club provides snacks/drinks during tournament days.

Parents are highly encouraged to wear their Hebron Golf attire and come watch/support the player and the team. Per UIL rules parents cannot engage with players by providing coaching, giving advice or rulings while tournament is in play.
